The day started with us a Sibley group meeting (we do this everyday). Here we debrief from the day before, find out how things are going individually with families etc., and go through the plans for the day. Today we had the welcome ceremony at the school. All of the students go down to the basketball courts and we are presented to the school. Then we went on a tour of the grounds both elementary and high school. It was great seeing the little kindergartners and primary school kids. Amanda's "mom" is a 4th grade teacher, and some others of our kids have little sisters and brothers over there. It was nice seeing them as well.
The rest of the day in school today will be spent doing some homework, working on presentations that they will be giving here at the school, and entering into classrooms.
The schedule here is also very diffent. The students do have 7 classes but they have 2 big "recreos" (recesses) in the day. They go to 3 classes and then have a 25 minute break at 10:00am to eat. Then they have 2 more classes and then another recreo at 12:05. Then 2 more classes. The kids think that this is pretty cool :) Me too.
