Today has been filled with happiness and sadness. It is our last day here at the school and we have made many new friends outside of the group that has hosted us. The middle school kids have been so kind and friendly, especially after entering into their classrooms and going on the field trip. Also, the same has happened with the high schoolers. I love to see the it all and it does cause some sadness as well since we are leaving.

Thursday- jueves

Today was a great day in the sun. We went on a "field trip" with the 8th graders and our brothers and sisters. This trip really sets the tone with the GDL students and many will decide to continue onto the high school next year because of the chance to go to Minnesota through our exchange. Imelda figures that last year more than 20 listed the exchange as one of the principle reasons for registering for high school. That means major $ for the school. This trip again puts our kids in an almost continuous Spanish environment. Our Sibley kids are developing confidence in the language and are making fewer mistakes. They realize it and even look forward to tonight when they will be hanging out with their families only.

After School the group went to Tlquepaque. It's a suburb of GDL that is known for it's ceramics, glass work, and more. a highlight was dinner in a restaurant that had a Mariachi and great food. A tour of the city came after.

miercoles

The kids had a great time enjoying the market that appears every Wednesday in front of the school. You can find everything there from pets to food to clothes to jewelry etc.

Today we continue to give presentations, this time to the middle school classes. Our ids are having an easier time now that they have done this a few times already.
