Well, We all started out the day tired. We met at the school and left for Manzanillo at about 5:30am. Not too bad realizing that time in Mexico is relative :) The bus ride took about 4 hours. Those that could (me not being one of them)were able to get a little sleep on the bus. In Manzanillo we went to an area called La Boquita. There we spent our time at a beach restaurant called the Capitan Gorila. The kids spent the day on the beach getting sunburnt :) Playing in the ocean, going on the banana boat, hanging out with their sisters and brothers. The kids continue to get along very well with each other and the Sibley kids are starting to speak more and more Spanish, even on their first day which is nice. It's one of the nice things about coming after the GDL kids have already been with us in MN, the kids already have made friends. Our kids have already picked up new vocabulary that has a better chance of sticking due to it being so real and relevant to where they are.
Only one small hiccup. One of the kids was stung by a jellyfish. After a little white vinegar treatment, the kid was as good as new and has a unique story for the trip :)
We ate ceviche(a tyical dish that is similar to Sushi in preparation but cut up in very small pieces and here mixed with carrots), camarones (shrimp), marlin, pulpo (octopus) and it was awesome.
We got back about 10:00pm and the kids went home with their families to get supper and some rest.
Pictures to come
